Ubuntu keyboard shortcuts

A list of common keyboard shortcuts to help increase productivity

Constantly moving from Mouse to keyboard and back to mouse is labourious, it slows down productivity and is painful. One of the ways which you can combat this is to make use of keyboard shortcuts.

No more taking your hands off the keyboard and reaching for the mouse to do things (that’s for mugs and Mac users).

For the remainder of this document, I will be using [https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop/thank-you?version=24.04.2&architecture=amd64&lts=true](Ubuntu 24.04 LTS Desktop) installed as a vanilla installation and will be updating this guide as future versions come out and I migrate to them.
I have used the uppercase letters within here. Uppercase are easier to distinguish from lowercase, this does not mean you need to press SHIFT or turn on CAPS LOCK prior to using this. It works just as well with lowercase letters.
Where an option of keys can be used, substitue accordingly. e.g. [ArrowKeys] would be used to indicate one of the arrow keys.
